Secrets of the Smoking Court Posted Friday, April 18, 2014 11:34 PM Hoping to break the ice here. First - I was not a smoker, but a lot of the tough cool kids, at least that was my thinking back then, would hang out there during lunch time or after school. I always wondered what went on back there and what you guys talked about. I figure it was world changing things, like peace protests, the latest recreational drugs, and Nixon. Was I right? C'mon, share your secrets with us now - forty years later. :-) J.D. |

RE: Secrets of the Smoking Court Posted Sunday, July 6, 2014 10:18 AM Bought an underground "Smoking Pass" (white skull/crossbones on black background, sticker) since you had to have a parental note to smoke and I wasn't going to get that. Didn't have enough confidence in my letter forging attempts either. Worked for Junior & Senior years. I think we were required to put the sticker on our driver's license because I don't remember a school ID. |

RE: Secrets of the Smoking Court Posted Thursday, May 14, 2020 11:09 AM And let's not forget the "Great Speckled Bird". It was a great underground newspaper. I have come across old issues from time to time on the internet, and I have downloaded 17 issues. They are always interesting to go through to see a different aspect of what life was back then. I think I even sold some to make some pocket change..... |
