Burger flipper at Hardee's Hamburgers on Memorial. Odd place - but met my first and second steady girlfriends there. Classmates Mike Main and Mike Campbell also worked with me there.

Senior year I worked at Belk Hudson's (Haysland Square) as a salesman in the Men's Department. I believe Grissom called it "Vocational Education", as I got out of school at 2pm everyday. Worked there for a year.

My senior year I drove the Trade School bus every day and worked at G.C. Murphy's in the afternoons. Those two jobs payed for the 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner.

I remember that Linda Novak worker there too and I think Jane???  I have a rotten memory but the main thing I remember was how heavy those metal plates were and filling the salt shakers every night...oh and scaping the potatoe off the carpet!!!  We made our kids work in the food industry when they were in High School...very motivating:)

Worked at IHOP as a hostess. I was good at hospitality and running the cash register. I tried waitressing a couple of times, but I couldn't carry more than two plates at a time. None of the veteran waitresses told me I could carry more if I put towels on my arms to protect them from the hot plates.

Working in food service convinced me going to college was really important
