In Memory

Soar, Oh soar, my precious friend.
This earthen cage no longer holds
Its crafted beauty made of clay;
the cursed door now opens to the sky!

Fly, oh fly, to your Savior's love
Away from dark sorrows that blot out the moon;
Away from painful searing days
that push the head to weary swoon.

Away, away, away! Let His love carry you,
From sin's deep legacy
That so long had wrapped around you -
Death and fear are swallowed up in His victory.

Away away, away! You soar!
Breathe of heaven's peace beneath your soul
"Glory, glory gloary!" sing the Angels
as New Life, beyond all time, becomes yours.

Now Fly, Oh Fly in glorious freedom!
Love assures every sense
of its great jubilee
As sin and guilt are forever released!

Such joy transforms the soul,
As heart finds true love at last.
No more is needed now;
no more than this.
