David Chasteen, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022. David was born July 9, 1955 to the late Doug Chasteen, and Mary Chasteen. He fought a year-long battle with cancer, always optimistic and cheerful to the end. David graduated from Grisson High School and was an exceptional man, so kind and helpful to others, often going out of his way to help. He loved his church family at Family Worship Center, Hazel Green, Alabama, and greeting them on Sundays. It was a great day when he found his church home there. He loved nature and animals, having several dogs. He was gifted with many talents. David is survived by his wife Dot Chasteen, son Jason Chasteen of Oregon, one grandson, mother Mary Chasteen of Ringgold, Georgia, brother Eric Chasteen, and sister Susan Chasteen of Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his father, Doug Chasteen. A memorial service will be held at the Family Worship Center in Hazel Green, AL, on Sat. Feb. 5, at 12:00 noon Central time, with pastor Eric Lones officiating. The church is located at 14945 Hwy 231-431, North Hazel Green, Al.
