Scotty Johnson was an old friend and one of the first friends we both had when Perry, Scotty, and Timmy lived on Woodbine just off Hickory Hill. The Johnson boy's were a talented bunch and I always envied their musical talents. Perry and Scotty both played the guitar and if memory serves me, Timmy (Timothy or Tim) planned the drums. By the way, at Scotty's funeral everyone was calling him Scott and it was odd to here him called by another name than Scotty. Scotty and I were together during some rough times as pre-teen and young teenagers trying to find our way in life. After graduation and oddly enough, I kept running into his brother Perry all the time and for a short time or two, Perry and I went to the same church so I was able to keep up with Scotty along the way. Scotty was a talented guitar player and song writer as mentioned and we ran into each other again at my older sister's wedding where Scotty played and sang at their wedding. I never will forget meeting Scotty's daughter Lillie at the funeral. She was beautiful of course but she looked just like Scotty and I thought I was looking at him when we were young teens. Scotty found the Lord before he went home and he wrote a beautiful song about that experience and it was played at his funeral. I'll see you again brother!

Scotty was always quick to share a smile. I remember him well from high school and a few years afterwards. He was a friend to many of us. Scotty was one of those people you were glad to see when you did and had many friends. He will be missed.
