Obituary

Dolores Delaney, resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL, formerly of Navarre, FL, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 surrounded by family at the age of 61.

Dolores was born on August 10, 1956, in Fort Walton Beach, FL, and she was raised in Huntsville, AL. Dolores was a hair designer for over 30 years, and more recently, an artist. She successfully owned and operated multiple hair salons known for offering high quality services, the most trendy cuts and gorgeous décor.

Dolores was known as a strong force of a woman with a contagious laugh that could be heard by all around her. She was known for her larger than life personality, desire to make those around her feel loved and beautiful, her sass, and tendency to offer words of advice (whether you wanted them or not). Her story telling skills were unrivaled, her ability to make others feel special was a gift, and her cookies will be remembered by all who had the opportunity to savor them.

Dolores will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sarah and her husband James, Ben and his wife Rachel. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Savannah, Hailey, Matthew, Hannah, Alexander, and Nevaeh. Dolores will be forever cherished by her sister Carla and brother-in-law Jim, and brother Frank. Dolores was predeceased by her parents George and Margaret and her sister, Sonya. She will be missed by her dearest friend, Wes.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018, beginning at 3:00 pm at the Sea Turtle Pavilion on Navarre Beach. Memorial services will begin at 3:30 pm. Following the memorial service, in honor of Dolores’s wishes, this gathering will be a celebration, so please arrive prepared to celebrate her life as she lived it, with joy, music, good food and enjoyment of the beach.

Her family is resting in God’s peace knowing that she is no longer in pain and “singing with the angels”. She will be dearly missed by so many.
